Joan Cobb Peary, native of Columbus, Georgia, passed away in her home on the morning of March 25, 2015. She was born on December 21, 1940 in Corinth, Mississippi to parents Charles Raymond Cobb and Viola Abernathy Cobb, who preceded her in death. She leaves her family and friends with years of cherished memories. She excelled in everything she undertook. She expressed her passion for music through work as an accomplished pianist and organist. Her most recent work as an assistant librarian with the North Columbus Library reflected a life-long passion for literature. She had...

Joan Cobb Peary, native of Columbus, Georgia, passed away in her home on the morning of March 25, 2015. She was born on December 21, 1940 in Corinth, Mississippi to parents Charles Raymond Cobb and Viola Abernathy Cobb, who preceded her in death. She leaves her family and friends with years of cherished memories. She excelled in everything she undertook. She expressed her passion for music through work as an accomplished pianist and organist. Her most recent work as an assistant librarian with the North Columbus Library reflected a life-long passion for literature. She had also held positions as a data specialist for the United States Government, supply administrator for the Department of Defense at Fort Benning and secretary for the Department of Defense elementary school in Fulda, Germany. She possessed a strong and enduring faith in Jesus Christ in whose eternal presence she now resides. She regularly attended worship at East Highland United Methodist Church with her treasured friend Betty Sue Akin. She is survived by daughter Jenean Carlton (Andrew) and son Jeffery Frank Holloway (Julie). She leaves seven grandchildren ''' Kyle, Casey, Victoria, Jessica, Mia and Aiden. She was preceded in death by son James (Jimmy) Dale Holloway, and sister Carol Cobb Turner. She is also survived by three nephews Michael, Ricky, and Les Turner and many wonderful friends.
